Audience Service ManagerThe Audience Services Manager has the responsibility of managing front of house operations that helps ensure a positive experience for patrons attending events held at the Annenberg Center. The Audience Services Manager will be the main contact for all customer related issues (except for Box Office issues). Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of and preparation of weekly payroll documentation for all front of house (FOH) staff, including house managers and ushering; concessions & merchandizing staff, dressing room stewards, coat check staff, and ADA services staff.
- Management of all FOH patron services, including house management and ushering; pre- and post-show wraparound activities; patron amenities; VIP services; disabled patron services; security scheduling; lost & found services; program stuffing; completion of event checklists; liaison to emergency services; preparation of accident reports; documentation of these and other FOH issues and incidents; and coordination of ticket counts for ticketed events and estimates for un-ticketed events.
- Serving as on-site manager of all FOH services (before, during, and post-show) for all Annenberg Center presented/co-presented performances, as well as for all other major events in the building and on the outdoor plaza.
- Scheduling of all professional security support (currently, by Allied Security), and rehearsal room allocations for all programs in the building, including performances and rehearsals by Penn's student performing arts groups and Penn's Theatre Arts Department.
- Coordinating periodic position-specific and departmental cross-training for new and returning staff (including fire & safety training led by Penn's Department of Public Safety), along with the periodic preparation and updating of relevant training materials.
- Managing the Center's concessions & merchandizing business, including business development, product evaluation, procurement and inventory control, along with the financial management of all associated cash, check and credit card transactions, financial reconciliations, deposits, and reports.
- Participation in regularly scheduled Center staff meetings and special briefings (e.g. involving the full staff, Operations Department, and FOH Team); liaison with leadership staff in the Box Office and Facilities Rental Office and in the Operations, Marketing, Development, and Finance Departments; and active participation in all major rental client walkthroughs.
- Plus additional duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's Degree is required and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally in written and oral communications. Must have proven ability to conduct themselves in a professional and mature manner, be proactive in problem solving and have the ability to manage multiple tasks. Must be a self-starter with strong organization, analytical and computer skills. Must be able to work and think independently as well as assume a crucial role within a team environment. This position requires evening and weekend work.

Student Marketing Team MembersThe Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts wants YOU to get involved with our student efforts!
Our Student Marketing Team (SMarT) is seeking enthusiastic and driven students to help increase the presence of college students at the Annenberg Center, primarily by promoting Annenberg Center performances, student ticket prices, and various social events.
Responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the main liaison between the Annenberg Center and college students
- Brainstorming about student-directed marketing campaigns to spread the word about performances to Penn and other campuses in the area
- Creating promotional and social events to get students excited about coming to performances
- Working closely with the Annenberg Center's marketing department, as well as all other departments across the organization
Requirements for membership include:
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Good teamwork and ability to take initiative
- A knowledge or a love for the performing arts is a plus!
