In an act of voyeurism, the audience monitors the intimate life of a married couple, complete with all of their joy and confusion, pleasure and pain. Will the monotone perfection of domestic life drive them to desperate acts against themselves, and the world? In this world premiere performance, internationally acclaimed Cuban choreographer Marianela Boán showcases her revolutionary style of "contaminated dance" with a collage of emotionally expressive voice and movement styles, drawn from both traditional and modern genres. Voyeur features dancers Scott McPheeters and Bethany Formica, and original compositions by Philadelphia electro-acoustic musician Jason Carr.

The company from Hotel Obligado is passionately dedicated to bringing vital, innovative theatre to Philadelphia and surrounding communities by creating and staging original, ensemble-generated performances that touch the soul. Beauty Is features a four-person cast and is an original work, written, scored and choreographed by Hotel Obligado ensemble members.
