As the first Theatre of Ballet in Russia, the internationally renowned St. Petersburg Ballet has built an international reputation for its moving performances and electric and skillful choreography. Under the direction of Yuri Petukhov, the company presents Carmen, based on the classic, beloved Georges Bizet opera. A passionate story of love, jealousy and tragedy is performed with full orchestra and exquisite costumes and sets. Carmen is a Spanish gypsy girl who leads men astray with her beauty and dancing. She is a strong-willed, destructive siren, but her fierce passion wins an audience to her side and weaves a breathtaking tale.
