Dendy DanceTheater
| February 10 – 12 We regret to inform you that Mark Dendy has cancelled upcoming touring engagements by his company due to medical reasons. These performances will be replaced by a joint program of two brilliant New York companies, Monica Bill Barnes & Company and Kate Weare Company. The dates and times (shown below) remain exactly the same. OBIE and Bessie Award winner Mark Dendy turned heads in the dance world with his outrageous reinvention of Martha Graham in his irreverent and poignant work, Dream Analysis. After a decade on Broadway (Taboo and The Pirate Queen) and off Broadway (Jacques Brel is Alive and Well Living in Paris) he returns to the concert scene with his latest semi-autobiographic work, Divine Normal. Scenes include Afternoon of the Faunes, a provocative and mesmerizing male duet to Debussy channeling twin Nijinskys, and Working Class Suite, a tribute to the American do-or-die spirit, set to music from the 50s and 60s. Enjoy the creative genius and extraordinary energy of this unusual talent as he blends humor and pathos into a compelling compilation of dance theatre the New York Times says is infectious. | ![]() |
