Directions

TRAFFIC ALERT!

Due to ongoing construction and various other events, there are occasional traffic alerts which may affect your trip to the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts both in terms of traffic congestion and parking shortages.

The South Street Bridge will be closed for several years beginning in December 2008 and is expected to cause delays both east-bound and west-bound on I-76. Please allow extra travel time if your route requires traveling near or through this area. For more information regarding the construction and alternate routes, please visit www.publicsafety.upenn.edu/ssbridge or email ssbridge@exchange.upenn.edu.


Driving Directions

From Philadelphia – 676 West
Starting off on 676 West, follow it to the 30th Street Exit. After the exit ramp, turn onto Market Street. Turn left on 34th Street and right on Walnut Street. The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is on the left between 36th and 37th Streets.

From South Jersey/Atlantic City
Take the Benjamin Franklin Bridge to Philadelphia. After crossing the bridge, merge onto 676 West. Follow directions from 676 West above.

From the West – Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Western Suburbs, Valley Forge, King of Prussia
Take I-76 East to Philadelphia. Follow I-76 to 676 East to Exit 345 (30th Street Station Exit). Keep right to stay on ramp and take ramp to Market Street. Follow directions from 676 West above.

From the North – New York, New Jersey, Connecticut
Take the New Jersey Turnpike south to Exit 4 and get on 295 South. Follow signs to the Walt Whitman Bridge and cross the bridge. Take I-76 West to the 30th Street Exit and make a left on Market Street. Follow directions from 676 West above.

From the South – Baltimore, Washington
Take I-95 North to 676 West. Follow directions from 676 West above.

How to Enter the Annenberg Center

The main entrance to the Annenberg Center faces inward towards the University of Pennsylvania campus and shares a plaza with the Annenberg School for Communication. To enter, walk through plaza with poster cases across from the Inn at Penn on Walnut St. between 36th and 37th Sts. Ascend the staircase which leads to the main plaza. The main entrance to the Annenberg Center is located just to your right when you reach the top of the staircase. An hour before most performances, the entrance on 37th Street (located between Walnut Street and Locust Walk on 37th St. walkway) is unlocked and you may enter through that location as well. However, this entrance is locked at all other times.

How to Enter the Annenberg Center for ADA Patrons

If you are not able to utilize stairs, walk through the plaza with poster cases across from the Inn at Penn on Walnut St. between 36th and 37th Sts. At the foot of the staircase, there is a double-door ADA accessible entrance. Ring the bell for assistance. You will be greeted by an usher at the door who will show you to the elevator and take you to your seat. This entrance is for ADA patrons only. If your mobility is extremely limited, please call ahead for assistance. ADA patrons will be seated once the house opens. Only one companion per patron may accompany the patron during escort. All others will be required to enter the house through the main entrance.
